The New Woman by Charity Norman

So, I was sent this book by Realreaders to review as a fan of Jodi Picoult and I have to say it lived up to her standard.
The New Woman is a heartfelt novel about a family that implodes because the husband, father and grandfather reveals a secret he can no longer keep! All his life he has felt that being a man was a burden and that he was truly meant to be a woman.
The story tells of the transition from male to female and how it affected everyone involved, at times it was hard to read when people where cruel and hateful, at times it made me weep with sadness and joy.
In the end it made me rejoice at the shomehow underestimated nature of humanity.
For those readers who like a novel to be gritty and based of real life issues then this is your book, a fantastic read.
