Did You Miss Me by Karen Rose

Absolutely love this author, she has me on the edge of my seat for many different reasons.

Firstly the crime, the horror and the pain some of her characters face is intense. Wondering if they will ever find justice and peace. Second of all, the romance and the agony of unrequited love is heart wrenching throughout. The way Karen combines the two is fantastic, can a man in love save his woman from dispair, loneliness and prehaps even death in order for them to live a happily ever after?!

In Did You Miss Me we already know some of the main characters from previous books which makes it nice that the story ties up sone loose ends whilst still having a new and gruesome case within its pages.

The many twists and turns of the story make it hard to tell you much without ruining the suspense for everyone. All I can say is that it is, as usual a fantastic read.

A must read for all romantic thriller fans, this book is full of murder, lies, corruption and romance in equal measure. Not only do you hope the characters solve the crime but you also hope that they find love amongst all the death.
A family convinced that a loved one has been jailed whilst innocent hire PI Paige Holden. When the woman she is working for us brutally murdered Paige knows there is more to this story than she originally thought.
The killer, unsure if Paige was just a heroic bystander or knew more about the dead woman and her family, starts trying to remove her from the equation too putting Paige in grave danger.
Determined to get justice for the faimly Paige refuses to give up the case even thought her life is in danger!
Along the way Paige meets some very nice people and some rather more distasteful ones, can she manage to solve the crime and find love at the same time?
This book has a fantstic plot and was cleverly written. I couldn’t work out the mastermind behind it all which made the book even better to read.

I’m Watching You by Karen Rose

image

I’m Watching You is another fantastic thriller from the amazing Karen Rose. As always if you like a bit of romance along with your crime thriller then these books are a must read.
The main characters are Kristen Mayhew and Detective Abe Reagan, who from the start create such a frustrating romantic tension!
Kirsten finds herself entangled in the mist of a horrific vigilante killer who dedicates all the murders to her, as a prosecutor she has her fair share of success but it’s the people who got away with their crimes that need to fear….for their lives.
In amoungst attempting to figure out who the killer is, Kirsten needs to battle her own demons before she can give herself to abe. Abe has his own issues as always but will not give in the fight for either Kirsten or the capture of the killer.
A fast paced thriller from the start, I couldn’t figure it out myself which makes the story even better. It will anger the reader, it will scare the reader and it will also warm the readers heart.
High praise for Karen Rose.

Kill for Me by Karen Rose

image

As the body count reaches ever higher in the third novel in the Vartanian series, you begin to wonder if this nightmare will ever end!
This novel Kill for Me focuses on Daniel Vartanian’s best friend and fellow agent Luke papadopolis and his sister Susannah Vartanian. Whilst there is the possibility of a romance, the main focus is to finally find the culprits behind the worst set of crimes known to anyone in the police force.
From corruption, betrayal, extortion, murder, and secrecy can the GBI finally unravel this unruly web and bring the people behind it to justice.
Another fantastic read and a great end to the trilogy.

Scream For Me by Karen Rose

image

Scream for Me is the second book in the Daniel Vartanian series and I have to say I loved it as much as the first one.
After the events of the first book Daniel Vartanian returns to his job as a special agent. His first case is the dead body of a girl found in a ditch, beaten and wrapped in a blanket.
Just like the past is coming to haunt him, this murder reminds everyone in Dutton of a murder years before but her killer is in prison so who is doing these horrific deeds now!
As with all Karen Roses books there is  the opportunity for Daniel to find love with none other than the original victim’s twin sister who has returned to her home town upon learning her stepsister has now also vanished.
Can everyone face the past in order to solve the crime or is the secrect better kept hidden! A story full of suspense and intrigue, it is a complete page turner.

Count to Ten by Karen Rose

untitled9

Well what can I say, words seem to elude me when I am trying to give this book the highest praise possible. It is fantastic read, even at 661 pages the book is hard to put down and the plot flows past so quickly.

The book is a great thriller and had me wondering who the killer might be, throughout the book Rose offers up different potential suspects which you think yeah it might be actually only then to find out it was an extremely well written red herring.

The main characters of the book are Reed Solliday, Mia Mitchell and of course the crazed killer that brings them all together. Fans of other Rose books will notice some familiar characters, but for new readers this addition doesn’t make a difference to the quality of the book.

The story is about the hell that two brothers endure in the foster care system, being let down when they needed protecting the most. One brother ends up dead and the other seeks revenge the only way he knows how, by setting off huge arson attacks in the homes of people responsible.

It is this case that brings Reed and Mia together, she is a homicide detective and he is an arson investigator. Together they try to bring the killer to justice before he kills too many people. Team work isn’t the only thing between these two as a flicker of romance lurks between them.

To find out what happens to all of these characters I would strongly suggest reading this book. It has everything that will make your spine tingle, it will make you laugh and it will make you want to weep!

Have You Seen Her by Karen Rose

untitled8

Well where do I start with this book, it is fantastic, it has horror, suspense, romance, and a little bit of sex all in one story what could be better. I have to say that I do love a good thriller and this plot just hit the spot for me, the story was that good I had trouble putting the book down.

One of the main characters in this story, Steven Thatcher, has featured in Karen Rose’s previous book but the two books are not linked in any way. Every so often the book makes reference to events that took place before but it does explain them so don’t feel you must have read the other one first, you should do because its good but not because you need to.

The main story is that teenage girls are going missing from their homes at night only to turn up murdered days later. The police need to find out who has been committing these heinous crimes before more girls get hurt, Special Agent Thatcher is in charge of running the investigation and trying to keep his family together at the same time.

On meeting Jenna Marshall, his eldest son’s teacher, Steven cannot take his mind off of her and the sparks fly. unfortunately Steven isn’t the only one who has his eye on the lovely Jenna!

A great read from start to finish, highly recommended to all thriller fans.
